Description

Large villa for sale in Turre. The property is excellently maintenanced and the wonderful views really are spectacular. Turre is a 5 minutes drive from Mojacar and less than 10 minutes to the beach.

This large villa for sale is built on a plot of 1,200 m2 and has 297 m2 built. The house is located in a very quiet urbanization and is completely independent. A spacious living room, 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms and large terraces. The large kitchen has a pantry. There arte two garages. One closed and another covered with a wooden pergola.

The views to the Sierra Cabrera are stunning and the mountain range is also great for hiking and climbing. Sierra Cabrera is one of the more picturesque climbs in Almería. The scenery is greener than the climbs further in land and the numerous hairpins make for some great views as you look back down the climb.

All amenities are close-by. Turre has two supermarkets. Naturally enough restaurants and bars to pick from and spend some quality time and shops are abundant. There are three major gof courses within 15 minutes. The famous Valle del Este golf and Spa Resort. The lesser known but high standard Marina de la Torre golf Courses. And last but not least the exquisite Desert Springs Golf resort.

History
The municipality of Turre is very old. Turre was originally a Moorish settlement created after the invading Christian armies of the Catholic Monarchs. They expelled the Moors from the nearby village of Mojacar in 1488. Originally Turre was called Turris, after the Latin for “tower”. This probably because there was a watchtower at the location of the new settlement.

This watchtower, was to protect the people from the continuous attacks by the Christians of Lorca. From prehistoric times there are numerous settlements from Neolithic times, the Copper Age and there are also Argar remains. From later times, there are remains from the Celts, the Iberians and the Romans in Cadima.
